Vista to OSX File Sharing

To see files on a Vista (Pro) box from a Mac OSX box:
1. Follow these instructions:

2. In the mac main menu, select “Go”-> “Connect to server…”
3. Type in “smb:\\<ip-address>”
To see files on a Mac OSX box in Vista:
1. Go into System Preferences on your Mac, and open the “Sharing” folder.
2. View “Personal File Sharing” options
3. Enable SMB sharing (this stands for SAMBA)
4. Add the appropriate user to allow access
5. In Vista, open a file explorer window and type: “\\<ip-address>\<username>”
(To find your IP-address in OS X, Open System Preferences->Network and select the appropriate network card)

The writer sounds like he didn’t _graduate_ from any of these colleges, but I agree that Wean Hall and Donner Hall sure are ugly. Lots of the new buildings are pretty well done.. and stop raining on PIttsburgh, it’s a really beautiful city.
